PROGRAMS CREATED BY THE FOUNDATION
PARRIS PROGRAM
For over 10 years, this program welcomed Wantagh and neighboring students and provided further enrichment and support to help prepare for the next school year. All teachers and educators were Wantagh Teachers and Special Education certified. The district now oversees this ongoing program that has served hundreds of elementary students.
Teen Center
The Foundation hosted a series of "Teen Center" after-school enrichment programs and was held for Middle School students. The program included elements requested by the students themselves and spans a wide range of offerings including academic assistance, computer skills and technology, professional guidance assistance, and recreational activities. The program also included a strong element of community service, as a vehicle for encouraging civic pride and personal accomplishment. This program ended in 2019.
